Gladstone Ports Authority
- Superior Coal (SCL) obtained a contract to clean out the environmental dams, process the coal.
- SCL built a low cost demountable plant
- Utilised hired dredges as the resource was below sea level
- Emptied the dams, and made available the coal to the client
Rhondda
- Clough Mining Services (CMS) obtained a contract to re-mine the tailings dams, re-process, and deliver coal to the client
- Fraser Alexander supervised the hydraulic mining
- CMS built and installed a processing plant - the basic separation was based on sizing
Mt Piper
- CMS negotiated a JV with Pozzolanic called Mt Piper Ash (MPA)
- With MPA negotiated and won a contract with Pacific Power (NSW Govt) to accept the dry fly ash, transport it, deposit it in the adjacent open cut void, and manage the ash dump.
- MPA undercut the in house price for these works and retained this contract for many years.
